If it has a parking lot, a warehouse floor, or a hard court, it is in scope. We work on single-tenant lots and on properties with hundreds of stalls, and we schedule around business hours so the lot stays usable while the work is done.

For state highway work, TxDOT publishes a standard specification — Item 666, Retroreflectorized Pavement Markings — covering material types, thickness, and the reflectivity expected of thermoplastic and paint markings on Texas roads. It is written for highways and not for private parking lots, so it does not bind your property. It is still the most useful published reference in Texas for what a durable, reflective marking should be, and we treat it as a quality benchmark.

The Texas state specification sets a minimum surface temperature above 50 degrees Fahrenheit at the time of application, and that number is good physics as well as good policy — traffic paint applied to cold pavement does not bond or cure properly, and the line fails early. In North Texas that mostly matters between December and February. We watch pavement temperature instead of air temperature, and we will move a job before painting into a bad forecast.

Not on a private lot, no. The retroreflectivity figures in the Texas state specification — a minimum for new white markings, measured a few days after application — apply to state highway work. Nobody is going to test your parking lot with a retroreflectometer. What matters on a commercial property is practical, not numerical: markings a driver can read at night in the rain, which is a question of paint condition and glass bead retention.
