Parking Lot Striping in Long Island — Frequently Asked Questions
What areas of Long Island do you serve?
We serve Suffolk County. That covers the North Fork and the South Fork, the Town of Brookhaven, and the central and eastern Suffolk corridor, with crews working out to Riverhead and Southampton and west through Smithtown, Islip, Islandia, and Hauppauge. If your property sits in Suffolk County, we cover it. If you are not sure which county a site falls in, give us the address and we will confirm it before we quote anything.
How long does parking lot striping take?
Most commercial lots are a one-day job. The real driver is not square footage but how much of the lot has to stay open while we work, how much surface preparation the pavement needs, and whether the layout is changing or repeating what is already there. A straightforward restripe over an existing layout moves fastest. A lot being laid out from scratch takes longer because the measuring and marking happen before any paint.
How often should a parking lot be restriped?
It depends far more on traffic and exposure than on the calendar. A high-turnover retail lot wears its lines down much faster than a low-traffic office park, and plow blades on Long Island winters take paint off in a way that sun exposure alone does not. The honest test is visibility: if drivers are guessing where the stalls are, or your accessible spaces and fire lane markings have gone faint, the lot is due regardless of its age.
Do you handle ADA striping?
Yes, and it is its own service with its own page because the requirements are specific. Accessible stalls, access aisles, pavement symbols, and identification signage all have dimensional and marking rules attached to them, and New York adds requirements on top of the federal ones. Our ADA parking lot striping page sets out what the 2010 ADA Standards require and where the New York building code goes further than the federal minimum.
What surfaces can you stripe?
Asphalt and concrete are the everyday surfaces, and both take permanent striping. For temporary work we are not limited to paved ground at all: event and overflow parking gets laid out on grass, gravel, pavement, or whatever surface the site has. Interior warehouse floors are a separate service using different materials. Tell us what the surface is and we will say what will hold on it, and for how long.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We come out to the property, measure it, look at the pavement condition, and put the scope in writing before anything is scheduled. Seeing the lot matters, because surface condition is what determines whether a straight restripe will hold or whether the pavement needs washing or repair first. Call us and we will arrange a time that works around how the property is used.
We’ll make your parking lot pop.
