Pickleball Court Dimensions and Layout
A regulation pickleball court measures 20 feet wide by 44 feet long, and USA Pickleball recommends a total playing surface of roughly 30 feet by 60 feet so players have room behind the baseline and outside the sideline. Those two numbers decide whether a slab holds one court or two. Most conversions we see are existing tennis courts, which take two pickleball courts comfortably — we measure before anyone commits to a layout.
Overmarking Multiple Sports on One Surface
Putting more than one sport on a slab is a question of contrast and sequence, not space. The primary sport keeps the dominant color and the secondary sport takes a clearly different one, so a player locks onto the right lines without hunting. Sequence matters as much: lines go down in an order that keeps intersections clean, and each set cures before the next crosses it. Rushing that is what produces smeared crossings.
Athletic Field Marking and Layout
Field marking is a different job from court striping, and we do both. Fields are larger, the geometry is set out from center rather than from a corner, and the surface is usually turf or grass rather than asphalt or acrylic — which changes the material and the expected service life more than anything else about the work.
We lay out and mark athletic fields across the Raleigh area: soccer and multi-use fields, practice grids, running lanes, and the perimeter and boundary lines that make a general-purpose open space usable for a specific sport. Because field markings on grass are not permanent by nature, most properties run them as a repeating engagement through a season rather than a one-off — a school or park needing lines visible for every home fixture is a scheduling conversation, not a single job. If your court needs the surface fixed before it can hold a line, we will say so at the estimate — a fresh line on a failing surface fails with the surface.

What size is a pickleball court, and will one fit on our slab?
The court is 20 feet by 44 feet, and USA Pickleball recommends roughly 30 by 60 feet of total surface so there is room behind the baselines and outside the sidelines. Whether your slab holds one court or several depends on its dimensions and how much run-off you will give up. We measure first — “it looks about right” is how a baseline ends up two feet from a fence.
Can we put pickleball lines on our existing tennis court?
Yes, and it is the most common request we get. A standard tennis court holds two pickleball courts comfortably. The tennis lines stay and the pickleball lines go down in a contrasting color so the two sets read as separate. We walk the layout with you first, because how many courts to fit is a capacity-versus-run-off trade-off only you can make.
Do you mark athletic fields as well as courts?
Yes — athletic field marking is core work for this crew: soccer and multi-use fields, practice grids, running lanes, and boundary work on turf and grass. It uses different materials and a different layout method from court striping, and grass markings are not permanent by design, so most properties run them as a seasonal repeating schedule. If you have a field and a court, we can usually do both in one visit.
What playground games can you mark, and where?
Hopscotch, four square, number and letter grids, snakes and ladders, target circles, and track loops — on any existing asphalt or concrete play surface. Schools, daycares, churches, apartment communities, and HOA common areas all ask for them. Play traffic concentrates in small areas, so playground markings wear in patches and need refreshing sooner than parking lot lines.
Do you resurface or build courts?
No. We work on the surface that is already there. Building courts, resurfacing, acrylic color systems, modular tile, and crack repair are all outside what we do. If your surface needs work before a line will hold, we will say so at the estimate rather than stripe over it.
