Sport Court Specialties:
Court markings we lay out
Pickleball has become the most requested court we stripe, and it has a published dimension set. According to USA Pickleball:
| Element | Specification |
|---|---|
| Court size, singles and doubles alike | 20 feet wide by 44 feet long |
| Net height at the sidelines | 36 inches |
| Net height at the center | 34 inches |
| Non-volley zone each side, the area players call the kitchen | 7 feet |
We also lay out basketball keys and three-point arcs, tennis courts, volleyball, and multi-sport overlays where one slab has to serve several games. Overlays are where the craft is. Two sets of lines on one surface get confusing fast unless the color hierarchy is deliberate, so we work out which sport reads as primary before any paint goes down.
For court dimensions outside pickleball we work to the specification your facility, league, or governing body supplies rather than publishing numbers here. We would rather build to the standard you are actually being held to.
Playground and school-yard game markings
Playground markings are a different job from court striping, and they are one of the things we get asked about most by schools, parks, churches, and daycare operators around the Coastal Bend.
The usual catalog runs to hopscotch, four square, number and alphabet grids, kickball and wiffleball diamonds, snake and ladder paths, compass roses, US and world maps, sensory paths, and short running ovals. Most of it goes onto existing asphalt or concrete play surfaces.
Two practical notes. Playground markings take heavier foot traffic than a parking stall ever does, concentrated in small areas, so layout position matters as much as paint choice. And a map or a compass rose is genuinely used in teaching, so getting the orientation and proportions right is worth the extra measuring time.
If you are planning a summer refresh, the window between terms is the easiest time to schedule it, and it is worth walking the surface with us before the last week of term. Faded markings and a surface that needs cleaning or patching are two different problems with two different lead times, and finding that out in June rather than in August is the difference between a repaint and a postponed project.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sports Court Striping in Corpus Christi, TX
What size is a pickleball court?
USA Pickleball specifies a court 20 feet wide by 44 feet long for both singles and doubles. The net is 36 inches high at the sidelines and 34 inches at the center, and each side has a 7-foot non-volley zone, commonly called the kitchen. Those are the numbers we lay out to unless your facility is working to a different league specification.
Can pickleball lines go on an existing court?
Often, yes. A pickleball court needs a 20 by 44 foot playing area plus run-off room around it, and many existing hard courts have the footprint for one or more. The questions we work through on site are how much clear space surrounds the slab, whether the existing lines will compete visually with the new ones, and which sport should read as primary. We measure the surface you have rather than assuming a standard.
What playground markings can you paint?
Playground work sits alongside our sports court striping in Corpus Christi. Hopscotch, four square, number and alphabet grids, kickball and wiffleball diamonds, snake and ladder paths, compass roses, US and world maps, sensory paths, and short running ovals are the common requests. We also lay out custom designs from a drawing. Schools, parks, churches, and daycare centers make up most of this work, and it is usually easiest to schedule between terms.
What paint is used on courts?
Court surfaces generally take acrylic court coatings rather than the traffic paint used on parking lots. Acrylic systems are formulated for the texture and playing characteristics a court needs and for direct sun exposure. Playground markings on plain asphalt are a different case and are often done in durable traffic-grade paint. Which system suits your surface is something we confirm on site.
Do markings hold up in the Corpus Christi climate?
Sun exposure is the main wear factor here, and it varies more across our service area than most people expect. NOAA U.S. Climate Normals record 106.3 days a year at or above 90 degrees at Corpus Christi International Airport, 69.8 at Corpus Christi NAS out on the bay, and 127.9 inland at Kingsville NAAS. A bayfront court and a court in Kingsville are not living in the same conditions.
Do you mark courts at schools and parks?
Yes. We take sports court striping to school and district properties, municipal and county parks, churches, HOA and apartment amenity areas, community centers, and commercial properties with employee or tenant courts. Public-sector work often has to fit a procurement process and a term calendar, so the earlier you start the conversation the easier the scheduling gets.
