Court Types We Stripe

Pickleball drives most of the court-striping demand in Fort Myers. A regulation pickleball court is 20 by 44 feet inside a recommended 30 by 60-foot total play area, with a 7-foot non-volley zone (the “kitchen”) on each side of the net and centerlines that split the service courts. We mark pickleball courts to the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook court specifications, which are the same dimensions used in sanctioned tournament play.

Basketball comes in three standard sizes. Half-court is 47 by 50 feet. Full high-school and college courts are 84 by 50 feet. NBA courts are 94 by 50 feet. Outdoor recreational basketball at commercial properties usually gets striped to the high-school dimensions. Tennis courts run 78 by 36 feet for the full doubles court, with service boxes, baselines, and singles sidelines marked inside. Playground markings — hopscotch, four-square, jumping grids, sensory-path patterns — go down in bright primary colors on smooth asphalt or concrete at schools and child-care facilities.

Our Process & Materials

We use 100% acrylic court paint formulated for outdoor use — UV-stable and engineered to flex with thermal expansion of the underlying asphalt or concrete. On new courts, we apply two coats of color and one coat of stripe paint, with a minimum 4-hour cure between coats. On existing courts being restriped, we evaluate the underlying surface first; if the previous color coat is failing or peeling, the stripes laid on top will fail with it.

Court prep is the difference between a 3-year and a 7-year paint job. We pressure-wash the surface, allow it to fully dry, fill any spider-cracking with court-grade crack filler, and check the surface for moisture before paint. Layout work uses chalk lines snapped against measured corner points; line straightness is verified with a long string before any paint goes down.
